calendar girls?

no, not our residents (although it might help raise some money!) but the show on at the theatre today. we bought tickets for the show starring ruth madoc and lesley joseph to name but two, but only 5 residents could be persuaded to go!  after they returned, the verdict was a definate thumbs down except for lucille who thoroughly enjoyed it and wendy who accompanied her mum!

more tea vicar?

retired rev tony rutherford came to see patty today- they shared tea in the foyer, before she had a walk in the garden.

classical music selection with lesley...

one of our regular volunteers, Lesley, visits residents to share her collection of classical music. not only does she prepare tapes of selected pieces, but she tells the story behind the music to our residents. they enjoy the interaction and always seem to learn something new about the well known, chosen melodies, a big thankyou to lesley - see you again in november.

shopping in beales...

just taking a well earned tea break from shopping in beale's. pictured are marise and phyl. cathy took marie, mary and john, off to superdrug and robert dyas on the other side of town - think they ended up at cafe nero - before we all met up with the minibus for the trip home.

afternoon stroll along mount ephraim!

after a hectic and enjoyable afternoon with Heather and her 'Music for Health' class, several residents decided to get some fresh air - Marian and Marie went for a walk on the common, some prefered to sit in the garden, but Iris, Mary and I opted to walk along Mount Ephraim and stop for a chat on a bench...

getting ready for the exhibition

following on from the David Hockney Exhibition earlier this year which we were unable to take our residents to - we are planning our own art show featuring his work at MEH. made a start today - hopefully we will be ready in time for the autumn/christmas fayre in november.

fashion show

vicky and her team from Bon Marche in Tonbridge came along to show the store's latest collection - modelled by the team and our own residents! on offer were dresses, skirts and jumpers etc, plus nightwear and slippers - in fact something for everyone.

keep fit with a difference!

sue devised some games for residents today during keep fit - add variety and fun to the weekly class. judging by the happy faces i think it was a great success!
