decorating plates....

julie brought some beautiful paper napkins and showed us how to transform plain glass plates and votives

using a decopage technique. phyll, patty, iris, ann and pat had a lovely relaxing and creative afternoon!

reminisence hour...

...today was all about magazines... we had a full house today and the topic was well received and sparked off all sorts of other conversations.

helen's friend comes to celebrate...

...joan whose birthday was last week, brought in a lovely cake and we held an impromptu birthday party. quite a day for tea and cake and candles today. hope she made a wish...

... it was our volunteer Joan's birthday today and she was subjected to a round of 'happy birthday to you' from the monday group in the library - she brought in some gorgeous chocolates for everyone; hope she has a lovely day.

afternoon tea dance

caroline and derek came to visit peggy and put on a tea dance for doreen, ann, eric, sheila, lucille, helen, phyll etc - great fun - they have promised to do it again soon..

ken, marie, mary and christine, were joined by some of the staff today (jemma, and di) to decorate some old prayer books from the library - we used decorative tape and stickers and everyone did an amazing job to transform some very plain covers...

R.I.P. Diana Court

Diana passed away today - pictured here on her 98th birthday last may. She had the dubious honour of being the longest residing resident at MEH and she will be sorely missed.
