our trip to dunorlan park did not go exactly to plan- although we did stop first for tea and biscuits on the terrace of the tea rooms, and admired the view from a seat at the top of the hill..someone suggested a pedalo ride and down we went to the waters edge. Eileen, mary f, Gloria and marie were up for an adventure and with some help from the staff donned life jackets and climbed aboard.
five minutes later, marie and Mary's crew led them astray, and they ran aground! They were refloated swiftly by Olly in his motor boat on his first ever rescue mission. john and Debbie who were crewing for Gloria and Eileen fared better and could be seen laughing as they passed them on the water! poor peggy and joan could only watch from the shore - no disabled access on the pedalo's (yet) and mary p sat talking with our volunteer Anne at the top of the hill, enjoying the view and the fresh air.
we were given special permission for our minibus driver to come down to the boathouse and pick everyone up - to save them the steep climb back to the car park, so a fitting end to a lovely, fun afternoon.
