rusthall church carol singers...
...brightened up the lounge today with their singing - a mixture of adults and children, male and female, came to mount ephraim and entertained our residents.
afterwards, we had mulled wine and mince pies courtesy of sheila and gemma in the kitchen, so thanks to everyone involved and happy christmas!

rotary club singers 2011
group photo of the lovely group from the twells rotary club who came to sing carols for mount ephraim on tuesday evening - getting everyone into the christmas spirit. residents had song sheets too and many joined in with the choir. a big thankyou to robin who organized everyone and to adam who managed to rustle up some delicious mince pies and a bottle of sherry!

jacqui came to play her silver sax to the residents this week as part of the christmas celebrations, incorporating some carols into her repertoire. patty, eric and olive agreed to provide some backup but grace still prefers her knitting & eric was very engrossed by the look on his face!

heather is from 'music for health' and aimed to get our residents into the christmas spirit
starting with the colourful party hats! soon everyone (or nearly everyone, grace preferred to keep knitting!) was making music, joining in with a music quiz and listening to a variety of music designed for residents well being, finishing with some breathing and relaxation techniques.

chocs away!
elizabeth and joan paid their last visit before xmas, bringing with them cards and gifts of chocs and special biscuits for residents to enjoy.

electricians put the finishing touches to the studio on friday and we now have heat and light so no excuse not to be creating masterpieces at any time! patty especially will be pleased!

patricia jacobs came to play piano for the residents today - a special recital in memory of robert green. thankyou patricia, everyone enjoyed it immensely and im sure robert would be chuffed to bits especially hearing his beloved murzurka's...

autumn/xmas fayre 2011
very successful xmas fayre today, big thankyou to everyone who contributed and helped -marie and marian manning the bric a brac stall, christiane and carolyn our volunteers for looking after the raffle and cake stall, generous donations from elizabeth and joan and allison etc sheila and di for making all the lovely stuff, heidi for dishing out the mulled wine, karen for bringing the cup cakes, and the residents and relatives who helped us to sell out!!

burrswood for tea
a trip to Burrswood yesterday was arranged by our friends and volunteers from chartwell lodge - vivienne and joan kindly joined residents pat, lucille, susan, marie, helen,sheila, and patty for tea overlooking the beautiful grounds. a trip to the chapel and bookshop completed an enjoyable afternoon; many thanks to everyone involved especially hilary!
