Christmas 2013 was great at MEH

Resident's enjoyed a fantastic 3 course Christmas lunch prepared by Amanda which was Prawn Cocktail followed by trio of three meats beef, turkey and duck with all the trimmings and to finish a choice of Trifle and or Christmas pudding.
Amanda also prepared a beautiful Christmas cake.
Resident's pulled crackers and shared jokes with staff.
We thank Amanda for preparing such a wonderful meal.

Staff dressed in Christmas costumes and entertained resident's.
The atmosphere was great during the morning and throughout the day.
It was a pleasure for all staff involved in festive celebrations.

Christmas Day at MEH was amazing, residents congregated with staff in the lounge and we opened Christmas Presents together, we then had a sing and dance and toasted Christmas Day with a glass or two of Bucks fizz.

welcoming to MEH....the christmas babies!

MEH held the first ever 'nursery' today....courtesy of a local group of ladies who met through NCT classes earlier this year.  all the babies are around 6months old  and today they met in the library and posed for this Christmas picture in their lovely festive outfits!  the mum's enjoyed a chat over tea and cake while the babies played happily with their toys.

residents Lucille, marie, eileen and Joan W popped in to say hello -  and Mary P came and sat in the library for a while and enjoyed meeting all the baby boys. meanwhile, mary f and peggy stayed in the games room; nothing can keep them from their artwork - but they did pose with Jack and his mum!

it was a great success so we are planning on this being a regular event and hopefully, more of the residents will get involved!

celebrations all round

the MEH Christmas party for residents, their family and friends, was a wonderful affair last night; gorgeous food, plenty to drink and entertainment provided by the rotary club choir. thankyou to everyone who attended and special thanks to the chef's Amanda and Daniel, and our bar tenders, Jenny and Roy!

Dorothy celebrated her 100th birthday today - in the morning her family arrived and we had arranged a visit from the Shetland ponies at PATME
in the afternoon, there was a tea party, a lovely cake and later a champagne toast.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOROTHY
of course, Dorothy received her special card from the Queen "luckily she has a nice face.." said Dorothy; I think she was quite chuffed with it..

the residents were very happy to meet the ponies....sparkey and Delilah....from www.patme.co.uk who have visited before, but we thought would be a lovely surprise for Dorothy's birthday as she loved them so much on the first visit.  in the photo above, we have Eileen, phyl, joyce, hester, Helen p, mary p, mary f and olive...taking their turn for a stroke.  the ponies are so placid and gentle and happy to be loved.  they ended up staying for nearly and hour and managed to get around and visit most of the residents.  we are happy to announce that they will be at next year's Garden Party in July.

Glitz and glam as staff prepare to attend award ceremonies in London and Brighton, resident Mary Page also joining them.
We wish them a fantastic evening and the best of luck!

Elle...............

Despite the likelihood of  being the most well fed cat in Tunbridge Wells it would appear that Elle is not content with her lot helping herself to a brand new bag of whiskas dry cat food.
She clawed and chewed her way through the bag enjoying the delights within............
